Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively reveal their beautiful children amongst the stars

“You make everything better. You make everything in my life better. You’ve given me two of the most incredible children I’ve ever hoped to have.”

It was a good day for Ryan Reynolds and his family as the 40-year-old actor received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Reynolds and his wife, actress Blake Lively—who is a star in her own right—have largely kept their family lives quite separate from the public eye: Up until this week, they have never revealed their children to the ever-present cameras.

But it was a special day, and the gorgeous pair must have decided that an honor like a Hollywood star was occasion enough to bring their adorable daughters along and finally let us get a glimpse of the beautiful girls.

Proud is a pitiful word to describe how I felt today.

And this wonderful family did not disappoint! Reynolds accepted his star, which is located near the Dolby Theater (home to the Academy Awards) with not only his wife and daughters there for support, but also his mother, mother-in-law, and older brothers. The lovable actor gushed about his wife, saying to her: “You make everything better. You make everything in my life better. You’ve given me two of the most incredible children I’ve ever hoped to have.” He then joked, “You are the best thing, the best thing that has ever happened to me—second only to this star. You’ve made me the father of my dreams when I thought I only had fun uncle potential.”

All jokes aside, it seems the two have a very loving, committed and—dare we say fun?—marriage, enhanced and strengthened by their two young daughters. The proud parents were very hands-on with their spunky toddler James, who turned two today, and newborn daughter (whose name they are still keeping secret). James threatened to steal the show as she held the microphone, danced around the star, and even gave it a few taps, perhaps checking its authenticity. Lively looked on proudly at the ceremony with James on her lap, completely natural and at-ease as a mother. The Hollywood stars then effortlessly passed their newborn between them as they watched and laughed joyfully at James’ adorable antics. What a wonderful example of a down-to-earth (if not impossibly gorgeous and talented!) and caring family!

We don’t blame them for trying to keep their precious girls sheltered from the lights and paparazzi of the Hollywood scene up until now. Children with very famous parents sometimes struggle with constant attention in the spotlight, but it looks like this family is finding a very natural balance of letting their children be a part of their public personas, but putting a greater emphasis on living normal lives together at home. It’s obvious they have a great rapport together, and enjoy a strong bond of love, laughter and fun.

After the ceremony, the couple took to Instagram to continue their celebrating, posting photos from the event. Lively, an ever-supportive wife, posted a picture of Reynolds, herself and their daughter standing on the star, with the caption “Proud is a pitiful word to describe how I felt today.”
