Man’s ‘carpool karaoke’ treatment for father with Alzheimer’s goes viral (VIDEO)

This video of a father and his dishy son singing the Italian pop song “Quando, Quando, Quando” has already raised thousands of dollars for Alzheimer’s, and if you watch it you’ll know why.

To those who love them, people with dementia may seem to be losing their whole world—their sense of time, place, and identity. But play the right song and you’ll probably catch a glimpse of an Alzheimer’s patient’s old self. An adorable viral video of an 80-year-old man singing with his son shows just that. We love that the son took a moment to record his dad’s spirited performance—and it doesn’t hurt that the younger guy is quite the looker, either!

Long-time pub and nightclub performer Ted McDermott was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2013. But the born entertainer still knows his way around a showtune. His son, Simon, taped him singing the ’60s Italian pop song, “Quando, Quando, Quando,” with him one day in the car and the sweet video has taken off online. Since Simon set up a JustGiving page on June 8, the video has already fundraised more than $90,000 for the UK’s Alzheimer’s Society
