We don’t always have time, energy or space to plant our own gardens, but most of us would love to add fresh herbs to every meal we cook. Well, good news! You can create your very own teacup garden in a matter of minutes (one commercial break during your favorite TV series should be enough). This project is very easy, doesn’t require any special skills or equipment, and will make you feel great for recycling that old chipped set of china.

You will need:

a set of old cups and saucers (alternatively you can create a set from different mismatching pieces, but then stick to one color)
assorted herbs of your choice from the nursery or home store

soil (optional)

Rinse the cups, especially if they have spent a long time in storage.

Pick the herbs you like or know how to use. We chose basil, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.

Remove the plastic pot from the plants and place the root part in the teacup. If there is not enough soil, you can add some until the cup is full.

Find an empty shelf or space to arrange your garden and enjoy the amazing fragrance that will spread in your kitchen even before you start cooking with them!
