This fall, fashion is all about embellishments: baroque-like embroideries, glittery elements, and pop patches. You obviously don’t want to blindly follow the trends, but getting a little inspiration is a different thing … and this one is particularly cute. You can use this idea on a pair of jeans or a bomber jacket (the jacket of the season), but don’t worry, if you don’t have one, a basic gray sweatshirt will do (I actually “borrowed” this one from my boyfriend). With only a few iron-on patches, buttons, a piece of ribbon and plenty of imagination you will create a one-of-a-kind jacket nobody else will have!

You will need:

cotton sweatshirt
iron-on patches and other embellishments: buttons, pins ribbons etc.
iron
scissors
needle and thread
measuring tape and vanishing fabric marker

Mark the middle of the sweatshirt in three places: at the neck, in the middle and at the bottom (using the measuring tape measure the width of the top then mark in the middle). Connect the dots into one line.

Using protective paper, iron on the patches on both sides, making sure they are fully attached to the sweatshirt (check out the instructions on the patches for the right temperature )

Finally, sew all the extra embellishments on: funny XL buttons, safety pins, elegant ribbon bows with jewelry like elements. There are no set rules, you decide and design! Just let your imagination run wild.
