Yellow dresses are popping up like daisies

Canary colored dresses were all the rage at Cannes this week. Check out these less expensive lookalikes, perfect for spring picnicking or partying.

Sweet yellow ensembles are everywhere you look this spring, and right now, all eyes are on Cannes. It seems that last year, when Charlize Theron dazzled crowds at the premiere of Mad Max in a yellow Dior gown, she started a trend. Because this year, three more ladies followed in her sunny footsteps.

Jessica Chastain opted for a glamorous yellow gown on the Cannes red carpet last night. The Huntsman: Winter’s War star wore Giorgio Armani Prive, and Piaget diamonds that sparkled around her neck.

We found two yellow dresses that are slightly less Hollywood, but will still flaunt your hourglass figure.

This Ariella Alba v-neck bodycon dress has similar lines and hourglass shaping to the bodice, but is short with straps, so you can wear it to work or out for cocktails ($186, John Lewis).
This Parker Black yellow Bayou silk gown has a similar sweetheart neckline, but slightly less daring, and more forgiving through the hips and waist compared to Jessica’s curve-hugging dress ($298, Neiman Marcus).

Opting for a day dress instead of a gown, Kirsten Dunst evoked old school glamour in a belted Dior dress with full skirt. To add a modern touch to this classic look, the Jury star paired her shirt dress with a metallic waist band and gold wedges on her feet.

Shirt dresses like Kirsten’s are a great weekend look, but can also be dressed up for more formal wear.

Tory Burch Gigi Cap Sleeve Silk Shirtdress has a similar breezy style, and would be great to wear as a guest to a summer wedding ($395, Nordstrom).
For a more casual vibe, try this ASOS sleeveless linen mini shirt dress with belt. It’s a slightly richer shade of yellow, and so versatile! Perfect for the office of a summer picnic ($56, ASOS).

Anna Kendrick looked like the goddess of sunshine in this Stella McCartney gown. The Cafe Society star paired the look with romantic wavy tresses, swept to one side, as she posed on the red carpet for fans and photographers.

These three maxi dresses are stunning, but just a little sweeter than Anna’s va-va-voom look.

This Ralph Lauren Georgette Surplice gown has a lovely V-neck that’s not too showy, and hugs your curves in all the right places ($161, Lord & Taylor). But hurry! The dress just went on clearance sale …
This lemon colored Luna maxi dress by Stylestalker will be your main squeeze all summer long—it’s light, airy, and down right goddess-esque ($179, Revolve).
An elegant maxi from Laundry by Shelli Segal, this yellow pleated chiffon open back gown has the same glamorous neckline as Anna Kenrick’s, and can be dressed up or down ($211, Amazon).
